WHY DOES MY PEDOMETER READ LESS DISTANCE THEN I WHAT I ACTUALLY WALKED?

I wore my pedometer all day yesterday as well as we walked 3 miles after work. When we checked my stretch during the finish of the day, my pedometer review usually 1.76 miles. My stairs review 7,000. Is it pennyless or only cheap? 10,000 stairs is equivalant to 5 miles, supposedly.

Get a new one or just don’t bother. They are crappy things. I found if I shook mine…I could get the count to go up.
Hard ground/ soft ground/ how fast you were walking etc. all change the count.
Shouldn’t get all obsessed about numbers of steps- just go by ROUGHLY how many minutes of exercise you took.
    Do you have long legs?

    because it’s not accurate
